Today (Wednesday, April 2nd of 2008), I was meditating on God's word on "sexual immorality" and did a "word search". I found this verse, which I've read before; however, is what concludes-"in my opinion"-our sexually perverse culture...

AIDS has been a big topic lately (Decmember 5th), so I (Sal) thought this would be an appropriate time to do this website that I've been meaning to do for a long time.
I'm proud to say that I'm a virgin, which I'm not ashamed of. Many of my peers growing-up in high school (especially) would ridicule me that I was still a virgin. It was even before I came to Christ! I defintely wanted and still want to wait till I get married, like the article mentions below:

Every parent has an opinion about teenagers and sex. But last spring the editors of Seventeen magazine and researchers at the Kaiser Family Foundation realized they didn't really know what teenagers think about the subject. They conducted a national survey of high school students and the results, published in Seventeen this month, contradict almost everything that adults thought they knew. Some 92 percent of the teenagers, including 89 percent of boys, said that being a virgin in high school is a good thing. Nearly 75 percent said their peers support them if they say no to sex. More than three-fourths said they want to remain virgins until they are 18 or older, including 24 percent who want to wait until they are married. Results like that should calm those who believe the nation is in a spiral of moral decline. But they should also alert parents to an important responsibility they could be neglecting. Skeptics might challenge the survey results, except that they are consistent with other, bigger studies of teenagers' actual behavior. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say that the share of high school students who have had sex has fallen sharply in the last decade, from 54 percent in 1991 to 46 percent in 2001. Among teenagers who have sex, the use of condoms has risen sharply. Teen pregnancy rates fell by 25 percent during the 1990s and by 1999 had reached the lowest level in at least 20 years. But here's the blockbuster for grown-ups: Teenagers say they listen to their parents' advice and care about their parents' opinions. When asked to list the benefits of postponing sex, the No. 2 reason cited by teenagers was "respect from parents," right after "respect for yourself." Staying true to religious or moral values and keeping control of a romantic relationship also finished high on the list. "Parents think they've missed the boat by the time their children are 15 or 16," says Julia Davis, a senior program officer at Kaiser. "But three-fourths of the kids who are not sexually active say they learned something valuable from their parents." The irony is that, in many cases, it's not the kids who are letting their parents down, it may be parents who are letting their kids down. A separate Kaiser survey found a huge gap between the share of parents who say they've talked to their children about sex and the share of teenagers who say their parents have given them the information they need. "Parents feel that if they give their kids the one big talk, they've done their job," says Davis. "But teenagers want multiple conversations." Still feeling a bit squeamish? "The St. Paul Police conducted an undercover prostitution enforcement detail, which netted 35 violators this week.
Police said they received numerous complaints from residents, business owners and neighborhood groups, of prostitution occurring in parts of the city.
The bust was conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday and focused on prostitution advertised through the Internet and in print publications.
The 33 male violators range in age from 22 to 49 years of age. They were all charged with soliciting prostitution and booked at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center.
Two females were also arrested, but have been referred to the Breaking Free program. Breaking Free is a non-profit organization that helps women involved in prostitution and sex trafficking. "

"ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Department of Health says the number of new HIV cases rose 13 percent in 2009, climbing to a 17-year high.
The department's preliminary report says there were 368 HIV cases reported last year, compared with 326 cases in 2008.
HIV is an infection that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, or AIDS.
The manager of the heath department's HIV/AIDS section, Peter Carr, says the increase is primarily among males 15 to 24 years old.
Carr tells The Associated Press that while there's no concrete reason for the increase, it may due, in part, to complacency about the disease, particularly among young, gay men.
He says there's also a general lack of awareness that HIV is still an important issue in Minnesota.
The department has recorded 9,176 HIV/AIDS cases since it began tracking AIDS in 1982 and HIV in 1985.

"COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Members of the New Life Church were stunned and brought to tears by the Rev. Ted Haggard's confessions of "sexual immorality," then accepted his plea for forgiveness with open arms.
Haggard, who had been a leading evangelist and vocal opponent of gay marriage, apologized Sunday in a letter read from the pulpit of the 14,000-member church he founded.
Some in the standing-room-only crowd wiped away tears and embraced each other as they heard Haggard's words read by a member of the board that fired him a day earlier.
"The fact is I am guilty of sexual immorality. And I take responsibility for the entire problem," Haggard wrote. "I am a deceiver and a liar. There's a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark that I have been warring against it for all of my adult life."
After services, Patty Erwin kneeled near the back of the 8,000-seat auditorium and said a prayer for Haggard.
"We all love him because he's a part of our family. You don't just throw away a sister or a brother," said Erwin, who's been coming to the church for 15 years. "Desperately, we love him, and we wouldn't be here if we didn't."
Haggard, 50, resigned last week as president of the National Association of Evangelicals, which represents 30 million evangelical Christians, after a man claimed to have had drug-fueled trysts with him.
He also placed himself on administrative leave from New Life, which he founded in the 1980s. Its independent Overseer Board fired him Saturday.
In his letter, Haggard said "the accusations that have been leveled against me are not all true, but enough of them are true that I have been appropriately and lovingly removed from the ministry."
He did not specify which accusations were true. Haggard had acknowledged Friday that he paid Mike Jones of Denver for a massage and for methamphetamine, but said he did not have sex with him and did not take the drug.
The letter was read to the church by the Rev. Larry Stockstill, senior pastor of Bethany World Prayer Center in Baker, La., and a member of the board that fired him. Haggard asked for forgiveness for himself and for his accuser.
In a separate letter, Haggard's wife drew laughter when she promised to remain with her husband and said church members no longer had to worry about her marriage being so perfect she couldn't relate to them.
Neither Haggard nor his wife, Gayle, attended.
Youngsters were sent from the room before elders began discussing the church crisis.
"Worshippers are always challenged by crisis. And when tragedy and crisis strikes it is at that moment that you truly decide if you are a worshipper of the most high God. And today as the worship pastor of this church I am very proud of you," said the Rev. Ross Parsley, who has replaced Haggard.
Ryan Price and his fiancee, Karen Geyer, were impressed. "It seemed genuine � from the heart. It's unfortunate but it happens," said Geyer.
"He's reaching out and asking for forgiveness," said Price.
Jones, who said he is gay, said he came forward because he was upset when he discovered who Haggard was and that New Life opposed same-sex marriage � a key issue in Colorado, with a pair of issues on Tuesday's ballot.
"I wish him well. I wish his family well," Jones said Sunday. "My intent was never to destroy his family. My intent was to expose a hypocrite."
The scandal has disappointed Christian conservatives, whom
President Bush and other Republicans are courting heavily in the run-up to Tuesday's election.
Many were already disheartened with the president and the Republican-controlled Congress over their failure to deliver big gains on social issues even before the congressional page scandal involving former Rep. Mark Foley (news, bio, voting record).
Haggard, who had been NAE president since 2003, has participated in conference calls with White House staffers and lobbied Congress last year on Supreme Court nominees.

Christian group reaches out to victims of the U.S. sex trade

"USA (MNN) ― According to the United States Immigration officials, 600,000 people are sold into human trafficking around the world. Many of them are under-aged girls, who are sold into sex slavery. It's happening in major cities all over the world, including the United States.
Food for the Hungry (FH) is getting involved, says the senior city initiatives director with FH, Pat McCalla. McCalla says their involvement in this came after he met with Phoenix city officials to find out some of the pressing needs in their own city. "I was actually horrified to learn that one of the issues was child prostitution, or what I call rape for profit -- the sexual exploitation of under-aged victims. And I found out that the average age of a child prostitute in our city was 13 years old."
That's when leaders from all over the community met together to begin planning to eradicate this heinous crime. Part of that was creating a documentary called, Branded. "The purpose is to educate, motivate people to begin to speak out about this heinous crime and then hopefully advocate to change legislation. The end goal is to build a safe house that can work with these girls to restore them."
McCalla describes the problem in Phoenix. "Four to five years ago, when they would arrest a pimp, most of those girls were over 18. Today, when they arrest a pimp, generally most of those girls are under age."
He says the girls involved don't fit any one specific demographic. He says they range from lower class to upper class and many nationalities in Phoenix. Most of the girls live in the U.S. "A lot of times, they cross state lines. We find a lot of girls from California, Nevada and Texas."
McCalla says the safe house they're proposing will be faith-based. "What we mean by that is 'Christ centered,' that any girl that comes into this program would come in and hear the name Jesus throughout the day, and they would hear talk about that. So we've made it clear, even with government official, that it will be a Christ-centered home."
FH hopes that through this program, these girls will come to know Christ in a personal way.
The local church is the head of the spear on the project, and it's not going to be cheap. "The building of the safe home is probably going to be around 10-million dollars and then nearly a two-million dollar budget a year to run it. We're actually looking at a thre- tear attack. It's like a three-legged stool. If you take one leg out, it would fall over. And we're saying advocacy, prevention and rehabilitation."
McCalla hopes to begin breaking ground on the group home in 18 months.
While Food for the Hungry wants to see the safe home built in Phoenix, McCalla says other communities are already interested in starting a program.
While funding is needed for the project, McCalla is asking people to pray. "Tonight, in most of our major cities, there will be 12-, 13- or 14-year-old girls that will be raped repeatedly, and it will happen to them night after night after night. So we need to pray that churches will fight against this injustice."
